Born in Istanbul in 1975; Turkish violinist and viola player; he received his musical training at the State Conservatory of Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul and continued his studies from 1994 with Lukas David at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold and from 1999 with Mintcho Mintchev at the Folkwang-Hochschule Essen, where he took his concert diploma with distinction in 2002. Numerous international distinctions, among them the GWK music award, first prize at the International Violin Competition Istanbul, the Folkwang Prize and several prizes at the International Johannes Brahms Competition. As a violin and viola soloist he has performed in important halls in Europe, the USA, Israel and Egypt with renowned orchestras and conductors. Since 2017 he has been principal viola of the MDR Symphony Orchestra Leipzig; since 2023 a member of the Trio Lirico.
