Bauwien van der Meer

Bauwien van der Meer is a soprano, choral director and singing teacher. After studying art history she studied at the Royal Conservatory and took her master’s degree at the Nieuwe Opera Academie. A scholarship from the Prins Bernhard Cultuurfonds enabled her to take the postgraduate course in contemporary vocal music at VocaalLAB, today Silbersee; there she sang numerous first performances and took part in music theatre productions at home and abroad. Alongside projects of her own she works as an oratorio and opera soloist, directs the Utrechts Kamerkoor and works with contemporary composers as well as with the classical oratorio repertoire.
