Carlos A. Crespo Repetto was born in Las Piedras, Uruguay, on 13 June 1947 and is a Uruguayan-German horn player and teacher. After first lessons in Montevideo he studied from 1970 with Gerd Seifert at what was then the Hochschule der Künste in Berlin. Engagements took him to the Philharmonia Hungarica, the Nürnberger Symphoniker, the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker and the orchestra of the Bayreuth Festival. From 1992 to 2013 he was professor of horn at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Mannheim; he also contributed to the development of Wagner tuba models by the firm Hans Hoyer.
