Catriona Böhme is a viola player and plays the Viola Campanula, the classical viola and the Baroque viola. Born in Weimar, she learned piano and violin at the Musikgymnasium Schloss Belvedere, changed to the viola at the age of fourteen and was admitted to the master class of Alfred Lipka in Berlin; she then studied in Berlin, Weimar and Düsseldorf. She has played with MusicAeterna, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen and the WDR Sinfonieorchester among others, as well as Baroque viola in the Balthasar-Neumann-Ensemble. Since 2015 she has devoted herself to the Viola Campanula and has presented first recordings with this instrument.
