Christina Buchsbaum

Christina Buchsbaum is a harpist and music teacher. From 2008 to 2013 she studied harp at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, deepened her training in 2011/12 within an Erasmus exchange at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional de Paris and subsequently (2013–2015) took the Master en Musique, harpe at the Institut supérieur de musique et de pédagogie in Namur. At the same time she completed a master’s degree in music education at the Cologne Hochschule (2012–2017). After teaching posts in Brühl and Cologne, among others as a harp teacher and in the “JeKits” programme, she taught music, general studies and French at a primary school from 2017 to 2020. Since 2019 she has been working in research at the Bergische Universität Wuppertal; her dissertation examines the lateral entry into the music teaching profession at primary schools in North Rhine-Westphalia. In the winter semester of 2021/22 she was a lecturer at the Musikhochschule Lübeck. She plays the harp on the Cybele album Martin Baltscheit: Vom Mädchen das nicht schlafen wollte (2006).
