Dan Lipton is a conductor, pianist and composer. On Broadway he conducted “The Band’s Visit” and Sting’s musical “The Last Ship”; he took part in “The Coast of Utopia” and in the Bridge Project directed by Sam Mendes as music director and musician. He scored the feature film “All These Small Moments” starring Molly Ringwald, played piano on three Grammy-nominated albums and can be heard on piano in the series “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” and in Rebecca Hall’s film “Passing” (2021). With David Rossmer he writes songs and musicals, among them “The Perfect Mate” (Pittsburgh CLO, 2024) and “How Do You Get to Carnegie Hall?” for Sutton Foster and Kelli O’Hara (Carnegie Hall, 2023). On the gala recording Doc Heilein and Friends Gala 2021 – Joyful (2022) Sarah Bouwers sings “They Don’t Let You in the Opera (If You’re a Country Star)”, which the two wrote for Kelli O’Hara; the performance at the Tonhalle Düsseldorf in November 2021 under Armanda ten Brink was the song’s European premiere.
