Born in Rosario on 13 October 1900, died in Buenos Aires on 21 February 1973; Eduardo Pereyra was a pianist, orchestra leader and composer. He had his first piano lessons in Rosario and later studied in Buenos Aires with Vicente Scaramuzza and Ernesto Drangosch. In the 1920s and 1930s he played in various formations, among them the quartet of Rafael Rossi, and took part in the beginnings of Argentinian radio; around 1926 he appeared in Madrid and Barcelona. His compositions include Madame Ivonne, El africano, Gorriones and Pan; several of them were recorded by Carlos Gardel. In the Cybele catalogue Madame Yvonne is heard on the audiobook Katrin Dorn: Tangogeschichten (2004).
