Eric Rackin is a songwriter. With Jay Rifkin he wrote “Livin’ on the Edge of the Night”, sung by Iggy Pop on the soundtrack of the film “Black Rain” (1989). “Show Me Heaven” also goes back to a demo by Rackin and Rifkin titled “Secret Fire”: Maria McKee wrote new lyrics for it, and her recording from the film “Days of Thunder” topped the UK singles chart in 1990. On the gala recording Doc Heilein and Friends Gala 2021 – Joyful (2022) Pamela Falcon sings “Show Me Heaven”, which he wrote with Jay Rifkin and Maria McKee.
