EuropaChorAkademie

The EuropaChorAkademie was founded in 1997 by the Mainz music professor and choral conductor Joshard Daus in cooperation with the Hochschule für Künste Bremen. After the insolvency of the Bremen sponsoring company in 2015, Daus founded it anew in 2017 as the EuropaChorAkademie based in Görlitz; the artistic director is Jan Hoffmann, the managing director Enrico Kasper. In the scholarship programme Dirigat-Gesang young conductors and singers from various countries work with teachers from the music academies in Wroclaw, Poznan, Szczecin and Dresden. The choral conducting school qualifies choral directors in cooperation with the Sächsischer Chorverband; choral projects bring scholarship holders together with professional vocal and orchestral ensembles. In 2008 Cybele Records released Bernd Alois Zimmermann’s Requiem für einen jungen Dichter with the participation of the choir.
