Georg Börgers is a German cellist with a focus on new music. At the Berlin Festival Inventionen in 1992 he played cello in the Ensemble Köln in programmes with works by Gérard Grisey, Robert HP Platz, Dieter Schnebel and York Höller; the festival’s list of performers records four appearances by him in that year. In 1996 Johannes Fritsch composed “Nachthelle” for the Ensemble Natrium, to which Börgers belonged as cellist alongside Tim Jones (violin and viola), Martin Ingenhütt (double bass) and Thomas Lehn (synthesizer); the piece was premiered in Cologne in 1997 and recorded in the Alte Feuerwache Köln. On the Cybele album Feedback Studio Köln Vol. 3 – DEGEM Vol. 6 (2003) he takes part as a performer.
