Gero Körner, born in Cologne in 1976, is a pianist, organist, arranger and composer. He played in the Jugendjazzorchester NRW and won prizes at Jugend musiziert and Jugend jazzt. At the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln he studied jazz piano with Frank Chastenier and John Taylor and classical piano with Valeri Minenkov. He has been the keyboard player of the band Rufus Zuphall since 1999. He works in the Ellington Trio with Barbara Barth and Caspar van Meel, in the Fink Körner Duo with the trombonist Hansjörg Fink, in the organ trio Hesse Koerner Petrov and in the Quartett am Ende der Zeit; in 2010 he recorded the album “Truth” on the Hammond organ. Further recordings are “Plays Greatest Hits” (2017) and “In New Orleans Vol. 2” (2025). Since 2010 he has been a lecturer in piano at the Folkwang Universität der Künste.
