Born 1907 in Bielschowitz in Upper Silesia, died 1995 in Glonn; Günter Bialas was a German composer and teacher. After studying musicology, German philology and history in Breslau he continued his musical training in Berlin and received composition lessons from Max Trapp. After the Second World War he shaped several generations of composers as a teacher in Detmold and as professor of composition in Munich. His work ranges from songs and chamber music to orchestral, choral and stage works.
