Karla Schröter

* in Germany; baroque oboist and ensemble director; studied oboe and musicology; specialist in historical woodwind instruments; in 1987 she founded the Ensemble CONCERT ROYAL Köln, which she directs artistically. The ensemble comprises up to 20 musicians with oboe, bassoon, horn, trumpet, basso continuo and viola d’amore; its focus lies on the music of the Baroque with first performances and revivals, to which are added oratorios of the Baroque and the Classical period, frequently together with choirs, as well as Harmoniemusik in octet scoring with actors. For Cybele she directs the Ensemble CONCERT ROYAL Köln in the musical recordings for the audiobook Gert Jonke: Der Kopf des Georg Friedrich Händel (2009) and takes part there as a baroque oboist.
