Lutz Glandien

Born 1954, Lutz Glandien is a Berlin composer and musician at the intersection of experimental song theatre, electroacoustic music and sound art. From 1977 to 1983 he was pianist and composer of the Dresden Schicht-Theater; he then studied contemporary composition at the Hochschule für Musik „Hanns Eisler“ with Wolfram Heicking and in the master class of the Academy of Arts with Georg Katzer. Since the late 1980s he has developed his own instruments, works in the studio with electroacoustic procedures and has written music and soundtracks for more than 150 radio plays, documentary films, art videos and exhibitions. His „virtualectric stories“ and performance works join constructive composing, sound research, improvisation and an attentiveness to narrative spaces.
