Born in Paris in 1961; Marc Pira works with electroacoustic and acousmatic music, sound installations and mechanical sound generators. He has lived in Bremen since 1989. Starting out from musique concrète, he forms his compositions from recorded noises and found objects. He has realised water-organ installations and constructed an electronic barrel organ; for the Speicherbühne in Bremen he combines his music with theatre, lighting design and performance. As an electronics player he also appears in improvised concert and dance projects, with Trinidad Martinez and Ingo Reulecke among others. His piece “Réalit-taire/Realitär” (2002) appeared in 2005 on the Cybele anthology DEGEM Vol. 8 – 90 Seconds of Reality.
