Martin Baltscheit

Born 1965 in Düsseldorf; Martin Baltscheit is a German author, illustrator, actor and radio dramatist. He studied communication design at the Folkwangschule in Essen and developed early on a versatile practice between theatre, illustration, children’s books, film and audio. His picture books in particular, among them „Die Geschichte vom Löwen, der nicht schreiben konnte“, reached a wide audience and won many awards. Baltscheit tells his stories with wit, precision and a fine sense for the existential questions of his young and adult audiences alike.
