Naomi Binder, born in Vienna, received her first violin lessons at the age of three from Kunihiko Kurosaki in Vienna and continued her training with Takeshi Yamamoto in Kobe. As a junior student she studied at the Wiener Musikhochschule with Günther Pichler, then took her performance degree with Klaus Maetzl; she studied chamber music in Basel with Walter Levin and Rainer Schmidt. She attended masterclasses with Dora Schwarzberg and Igor Ozim, among others, and jazz violin with Benjamin Schmidt and Christian Howes. She has been a guest musician with the WDR Sinfonieorchester, the Beethoven Orchester Bonn and the WDR Funkhausorchester and has worked as leader in musical and theatre productions. As a violinist and violist she plays in the Quartett am Ende der Zeit, in the Duo ConCorda with Fabian Spindler and in the tango quintet Tango del Sur. She lives in Cologne as a freelance musician.
