Oxana Thijssen

Harp

* in the Netherlands; harpist from Limburg. In 2017 she completed her bachelor’s studies with Erika Waardenburg at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and then took a master’s degree at the Mozarteum Salzburg, which she finished with the highest mark. As a soloist and orchestral harpist she plays with Dutch symphony orchestras. Alongside the modern concert harp she plays a historical double-action pedal harp by Sébastien Érard from the year 1831 and devotes herself in particular to the Romantic harp repertoire of the 19th century with works by Elias Parish Alvars, Alphonse Hasselmans, Félix Godefroid and John Thomas. She performs among other things in a duo with the pianist Kasper Schonewille at the Érard grand piano and is committed to the rediscovery of little-played literature on historical Érard harps.
