Chamber ensemble of musicians of the Duisburger Philharmoniker. At the concert of 23 February 2000 at the Technologiezentrum Duisburg-Neudorf, at which it played Michael Denhoff’s twelve quartets for twelve musicians, ten members of the orchestra took part, among them the flautist Wolfgang Denhoff, the oboist Kirsten Kadereit-Weschta and the violinist Johannes Henkel, together with the harpist Sonja Jahn and the pianist Mirela Lato. In 2008 the Confido label released an SACD on which the ensemble, conducted by the composer, plays Denhoff’s “Igitur” op. 85, a reading for chamber ensemble. On the album Michael Denhoff: Mallarmé-Zyklus op. 75, Twelve Quartets for Twelve Musicians (2000) the live recording of this Duisburg concert, conducted by the composer, can be heard.
