Roswitha von den Driesch was born in Saarburg in 1964. She studied architecture in Mainz and fine art at the Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weißensee with Inge Mahn and attended seminars at the electroacoustic studio of the Technische Universität Berlin. Since the mid-1990s she has developed, together with Jens-Uwe Dyffort, sound installations and videos that examine artistically the acoustic, historical and spatial properties of a place. The works have been presented in Germany and internationally; in 2006 the two received the Deutscher Klangkunstpreis and in 2012 the Ruhr experimental film award. Von den Driesch lives and works in Berlin and Wittstock.
