Samuel Beckett was born in Foxrock near Dublin in 1906 and died in Paris in 1989. The author wrote novels, poems, radio plays and texts for the theatre in English and French; after 1945 he wrote predominantly in French. With the drama “Waiting for Godot”, premiered in Paris in January 1953, he became internationally known; further stage works are “Endgame”, “Krapp’s Last Tape” and “Happy Days”, and his prose includes the novel trilogy “Molloy”, “Malone Dies” and “The Unnamable”. In 1969 Beckett received the Nobel Prize in Literature. On the Cybele album Feedback Studio Köln Vol. 11 – Johannes Fritsch: Damals-Triptychon (2011) he is represented as author of the text.
