* 1985 in Berlin; German actor; he was discovered while at school and, then under the name Sebastian Schmidtke, played the leading role in Hendrik Handloegten’s “Paul Is Dead”. Feature films followed, such as “Lichter”, “Die Fälscher” and “The Way Back”. After his Abitur in 2004 he studied acting at the Universität der Künste Berlin; in 2010 he appeared in “Penthesilea” at the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. At the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis he was named best young actor in 2010 for “Die blaue Periode”, and in 2017 he received a Grimme-Preis for acting; on television he has been seen in “Der Turm” and “Babylon Berlin”, among others. On the album Mirjam Wiesemann: Auf Flügeln in die Tiefe – Geschichten vom Aufwachsen (2010) he reads the story “Frau Schultheiß und die Vogelstimmen”, to which Martin Schmeding plays organ, recorder and bird-call whistles.
