The Thüringen Philharmonie Gotha-Eisenach goes back to older residence orchestras, among them the Herzogliche Hofkapelle Gotha. The orchestra plays in Gotha and in Eisenach and travels throughout the state of Thuringia. Its programme comprises symphony concerts, family, children’s and youth concerts, church concerts and open-air concerts, including the “Friedenstein Open Air” series. The focal points of its repertoire are the Baroque, the Classical period and Romanticism, to which crossover programmes are added. The principal conductor is Markus Huber.
