Ulrich Tukur

Born in Viernheim on 29 July 1957; Ulrich Tukur is a German actor, musician and author. After his Abitur he studied German, English and history in Tübingen and trained as an actor from 1980 to 1983 at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. From 1985 to 1995 he belonged to the ensemble of the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg under Peter Zadek; from 1995 to 2003 he ran the Hamburger Kammerspiele. He made his film debut in 1982 in “Die weiße Rose”; he became internationally known through, among other things, “Das Leben der Anderen”, and since 2010 he has played the Tatort detective Felix Murot. In 1995 he founded the band Ulrich Tukur & Die Rhythmus Boys. He also works as an audiobook speaker and author; his first novel, “Der Ursprung der Welt”, appeared in 2019. His awards include the Goldener Bär in 1986, the Deutscher Filmpreis and, several times, the Goldene Kamera.
