The French clarinettist André Dupont, with Paul Taillefer on the oboe and André Gaby on the bassoon, belonged to the Trio d’anches André Dupont, which also appeared as the Trio d’anches de la Radiodiffusion Française. The group gave the first performances of works for this scoring, among them Charles Koechlin’s Trio d’anches and Jean Françaix’s Divertissement. On 29 July 1950 Dupont played the clarinet part in the first performance of Julien-François Zbinden’s Trio d’anches at the French broadcasting corporation in Paris. In a historical recording of Schönberg’s Suite op. 29 under Max Deutsch he is documented on the bass clarinet; on the album Arnold Schönberg: Die Prinzessin (Cybele Records, 2008) he can be heard on the bass clarinet.
