Born 1966 in Pfullendorf; Christoph Maria Wagner is a German composer, conductor and pianist. At the Hochschule für Musik Köln he studied composition with Krzysztof Meyer, conducting with Volker Wangenheim and piano with Klaus Oldemeyer; he has taught there himself since 1995. As a conductor he devotes himself above all to the music of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries and has worked with Ensemble Modern, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the E-MEX ensemble, among others. His work comprises instrumental music, piano works and music theatre; since 2009 he has also developed “remix” compositions that carry historical models over into a contemporary language of his own.
