Born in 1966 in Pfullendorf; Christoph Maria Wagner is a composer, conductor and pianist. At the Hochschule für Musik Köln he studied composition with Krzysztof Meyer, conducting with Volker Wangenheim and piano with Klaus Oldemeyer; he has taught there himself since 1995. As a conductor he devotes himself in particular to the music of the 20th and 21st centuries and has worked with the Ensemble Modern, the Junge Deutsche Philharmonie and the E-MEX Ensemble, among others. His work comprises instrumental music, piano works and music theatre; since 2009 he has also been developing “Remix” compositions, which take up historical models.
