Edwin Alexander Buchholz

Born in 1961; Edwin Alexander Buchholz is a German concert accordionist and performer of contemporary music. He worked with radio stations in Europe and with composers. Edition Wandelweiser issued a CD by him with works by John Cage (“Cheap Imitation”), Jürg Frey (“Sam Lazaro Bros”), Michael Pisaro (“here (2)”) and Antoine Beuger (“die geschichte des sandkorns”), in part together with the flautist Normisa Pereira da Silva, as well as a recording of Cage’s “One9” in a version for accordion. His recordings also include works by Christian Banasik; his artistic work ranges from solo repertoire to electroacoustic and experimental music. He can be heard as a performer on the Cybele album DEGEM Vol. 4 – Ausbruch Aufbruch (1998).
