Born 1961; Edwin Alexander Buchholz is a German concert accordionist and interpreter of contemporary music. Early on he devoted himself to the accordion as a concert instrument in its own right and worked with broadcasters across Europe and with numerous composers. His recordings include works by John Cage, Antoine Beuger, Michael Pisaro and Christian Banasik; his artistic work ranges from the solo repertoire to electroacoustic and experimental music. Buchholz joins instrumental virtuosity to a marked sense of listening space, silence and new forms of performance.
