Born 1963 in Siemianowice Śląskie in Poland; Christian Banasik is a German composer of Polish origin whose focus lies in electroacoustic music. He studied composition with Günther Becker and Dimitri Terzakis at the Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf and computer music and conducting in Cologne and Frankfurt. In 1990 he founded the Ensemble Go Ahead for contemporary music and developed his own algorithmic composition software for film projects. His work comprises soundscapes, live electronics, instrumental and vocal music as well as music for radio drama, film and dance theatre; he also teaches audiovisual design and computer music in Düsseldorf.
