Ernst-August Schepmann

Born in Hattingen on 21 June 1931; Ernst-August Schepmann is a German actor and speaker. After his Abitur in 1951 at the Gymnasium Waldstraße in Hattingen he studied from 1951 to 1953 at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg and began his career at the Theater im Zimmer and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg. Permanent engagements took him to the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden (1953–1960), the Schauspiel Frankfurt (1960–1963 and 1985–1990), the Staatsschauspiel Stuttgart (1963–1969 and 1979–1985), the Staatstheater Hannover (1969–1979) and, from 1990, the Schauspiel Köln. Alongside his stage work he appeared in numerous film and television productions, including as Professor König in the series “Die Insel”, and he works as a speaker for radio plays and audiobooks. His son Philipp Schepmann is likewise an actor and speaker.
