Fr. Jakob Schwinde

Flute

Cistercian of Marienstatt Abbey in the Westerwald. The monastery in the Nister valley near Hachenburg was founded in 1212, moved to its present site in 1222 and resettled in 1888 after secularisation; a private grammar school and a place of pilgrimage belong to it today. The monks’ day is ordered around the communal choral office with Gregorian chant. In the Cybele catalogue, Fr. Jakob Schwinde is heard on the flute on the album Cistercian Abbey of Marienstatt – Live Recordings from the Liturgical Celebration (1997), which was recorded in the abbey basilica in August 1997.
