Frank Crijns was born in Sint-Pieters-Woluwe on 12 June 1960 and is a Dutch composer, guitarist and improviser. He studied composition at the Rotterdam Conservatory with Peter-Jan Wagemans and Klaas de Vries. His works have been written for soloists, ensembles, choir, orchestra, big band and live electronics; at the same time he is active as a performer in contemporary and improvised music. With the group Blast4tet and in further projects he joins compositional thinking to the sound worlds of improvisation, rock and new music.
