Harry-Ed Roland, who was born in the 1950s and died in Berlin in 2022, was an American composer, musician and teacher of music and communication and worked under the name d.d.slash; he lived in Berlin, in 2003 already for more than a decade and a half. He took a Bachelor of Music at an American university and studied composition. He wrote sound effects as well as concert, chamber and stage music, electroacoustic and traditional, for ballet, theatre, recordings, multimedia performance, film, video and advertising. Performances in five European and two North American countries took place in concerts and on radio; some works were written as commissions, others during stays as guest composer in national and university studios such as EMS and CIME. Two of his compositions appeared on CD samplers; one was chosen for the final round out of 455 entries at the international competition in Bourges in 2000. The Cybele album kontinuum … bruchlos includes his piece “N.A.M.A: ‘booty’ don’t walk” of 1999.
