Founded in 1954; a renowned Czech symphony orchestra based at the House of Culture in Ostrava; specialised in Czech composers (Janáček, Dvořák, Martinů) as well as the great Romantic and contemporary repertoire; regular international tours in Europe, the USA and Asia.
