Joachim Heintz

Born in Braunschweig in 1961, Joachim Heintz is a composer and sound artist. After studies in literature and art history in Braunschweig and Hamburg, from 1995 he studied composition at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen with Younghi Pagh-Paan and Günter Steinke. His works comprise instrumental and electronic music, concert and theatre music as well as sound installations and have been performed in Europe, Asia and America. He directs the electronic studio fmsbw of the Institut Incontri at the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover, teaches audio programming at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen and works with the Theater der Versammlung in Bremen. As a co-developer of the open source projects Csound and CsoundQt he hosted the first International Csound Conference in Hannover in 2011. On the Cybele album DEGEM Vol. 9 – Orpheus 400 (2007) he is represented with “Stimmen” (2007).
