Johann Bernhard Bach

Born 1676 in Erfurt, died 1749 in Eisenach; Johann Bernhard Bach was a German organist, harpsichordist and composer from the widely branching Bach family. After early posts in Erfurt and Magdeburg he became court harpsichordist in Eisenach in 1703 and at the same time organist of the Georgenkirche. His surviving work consists above all of orchestral suites after French models, chorale settings and keyboard music. Johann Bernhard Bach remained active in the circle of the ducal court chapel in Eisenach until his death.
