Jonny Axelsson is a Swedish percussionist, composer and improviser. As an interpreter of contemporary music he works with a wide spectrum of percussion instruments and has recorded works by composers such as Iannis Xenakis, Christian Wolff and Kevin Volans. His artistic practice joins precisely notated new music to free improvisation and to collaborations in dance, film and other media. As a composer he also writes for ensembles, choreographies and audiovisual projects.
