Lucas Gerin was born in Angers, France, in 1991 and lives in Stuttgart. After bachelor’s studies in percussion in Toulouse, during which he turned to new music and to collaboration with composers, he completed master’s studies in solo percussion and in new music at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart. He worked with Johannes Kreidler and Robin Hoffmann and played premieres by Peter Ablinger, Martin Schüttler and Philipp Krebs, among others. Since 2016 he has been a member of the ensemble Pony Says, and since 2018 he has played in the duo Mixed Sound Personnel for voice, percussion and electronics; he also belongs to the ensemble sh|ft and works with the Ensemble Ascolta. Performances have taken him to festivals such as Wien Modern, Ultraschall, Eclat, the Donaueschinger Musiktage and TonArt Esslingen. He teaches at the Musikschule Korntal-Münchingen. On the Cybele album Jean-Pierre Leguay: Jubilus (2024) he takes part as a performer.
