Born in Vancouver in 1955; Paul Goodman is a composer, librettist, sound researcher and poet. At the Institute of Sonology of the University of Utrecht he studied electronic and computer music and later taught there himself; he then worked as a freelance composer and librettist. He wrote the libretto for Hanna Kulenty’s opera “The Mother of Black-Winged Dreams”, premiered at the Munich Biennale in 1996, and for “Ramayana” by Sinta Wullur. His guitar solo “Call” of 2004 is dedicated to Diangelo Cicilia: the four sections of the piece are repeated without a break as often as the performer wishes, and the notation, open in many respects, leaves the performer wide latitude, from extreme changes of tempo to the omission of individual sections. On the Cybele album New Dutch Guitar Music (2005) he is represented as a composer with this piece.
