* 1947 in Düsseldorf; oboist, musicologist and radio editor; studied school music, oboe and composition at the Musikhochschule Köln. As a chamber musician and critic he received the Förderpreis of the city of Düsseldorf; from 1980 to 1984 he was music officer of the state capital Düsseldorf. In 1984 he became an editor at WDR in Cologne; from 1997 to 2009 he worked at SWF, later SWR, in Baden-Baden, responsible for the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg. Among other things he wrote the entry on Günther Becker in the lexicon “Komponisten der Gegenwart”. On the album Günther Becker: Collected Works – Magnum Mysterium (2004) he plays oboe in the recording of the world premiere on 4 May 1980 under Oskar Gottlieb Blarr, and on Günther Becker and the Piano (2017) he talks with Mirjam Wiesemann about his longtime friend and colleague Becker.
