Born in Wuppertal in 1970, Ralf Haarmann works as a composer, musician, sound artist, radio-play maker, author and director. He studied electronic composition at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen and develops music for radio plays, theatre, electroacoustic concert situations and sound installations; he has written numerous scores for radio plays of the ARD broadcasting corporations. His artistic work combines composed form, improvisation, language and spatial listening. Together with Christiane Hommelsheim he founded the label klangmœbel in 2011; since 2016 he has run the studio klangmœbel audiospace in Münster. Three albums connect him with Cybele. Two of them are volumes of the DEGEM series, 90 Seconds of Reality (2005) and Orpheus 400 (2007); to these is added a contribution to the audiobook production Weht ein Stadtspaziergang durch den Traum (2014).
