Santiago Cimadevilla

Santiago Cimadevilla is a bandoneon player, arranger and composer resident in the Netherlands. He was born in Buenos Aires and studied classical piano there at the Conservatorio Municipal Manuel de Falla, then bandoneon with Victor Villena at Codarts Rotterdam as well as composition and arrangement with Gustavo Beytelmann; there he took his bachelor’s and master’s degrees on a Huygens scholarship. He gives concerts in Europe, China, Argentina and the United States. His repertoire includes Piazzolla’s quintet works and concertos, “Maria de Buenos Aires”, Martin Palmeri’s “Misa a Buenos Aires” and Luis Bacalov’s “Misa Tango”; he has also taken part in world premieres of classical and contemporary music. As a composer and arranger he has written film music, works for various ensembles and orchestral and ensemble versions of Piazzolla’s music. He is a founding member of Splendor Amsterdam and teaches bandoneon and ensemble playing at Codarts Rotterdam, where he coordinates the Artistic Research area. In 2026 hd-klassik released the album Piazzolla Resonances with him on the bandoneon.
