* 1961 in New York; guitarist; studied at the Manhattan School of Music and at Yale University, with Manuel Barrueco and Eliot Fisk among others. From 1991 to 2000 he was a permanent member of the musikFabrik (today Ensemble Musikfabrik). He has premiered more than 100 works, has worked closely with Mauricio Kagel, Helmut Lachenmann, Tristan Murail and James Tenney and has appeared with the New York Philharmonic and at the Donaueschinger Musiktage, among others. With Ming Tsao he wrote “The Techniques of Guitar Playing” (2014), with Michelle Lou “The Techniques of E-Guitar Playing” (2025), both published by Bärenreiter. On the album Sidney Corbett: Que hora es in paradiso? (2006) he plays electric guitar, banjo and classical guitar, including “Exits” for electric guitar and ensemble, which Corbett wrote for him, with the musikFabrik under Johannes Debus.
