Born 1971 in London; Thomas Adès is a British composer, pianist and conductor. He studied piano at the Guildhall School of Music and music at King’s College, Cambridge; he also received important impulses from György Kurtág. His operas “Powder Her Face”, “The Tempest” and “The Exterminating Angel” stand alongside an extensive output for orchestra, chamber ensemble and piano. As a conductor Adès works regularly with international orchestras and has been Artistic Partner of the Boston Symphony Orchestra since 2016.
