Bachchor und Bachorchester Wiesbaden

Since 1978 the Bachchor and Bachorchester Wiesbaden have been a fixture of musical life in Wiesbaden. The Bachchor of the Lutherkirche brings together some 120 singers; its permanent partner is the Bachorchester, made up of professional musicians drawn above all from the Hessisches Staatsorchester Wiesbaden together with specialists in historical performance practice. Alongside the great works of Johann Sebastian Bach and the established oratorio repertoire, the ensemble also turns to rarely performed sacred choral music of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Concert tours have taken the choir to several European countries and to the USA; Niklas Sikner has directed the Bachchor since 2020.
