* 1963 in Leipzig; German violin soloist and Baroque conductor; studied Baroque violin at the HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin; co-founder and leader of the Akademie für Alte Musik Berlin (Akamus); musical and artistic director of the Handel Festival Orchestra Halle.
