Born on 9 February 1942 in New York; Carole King is an American singer and songwriter. With her then husband Gerry Goffin, who wrote the lyrics to her melodies, she created hits such as “Will You Love Me Tomorrow” for The Shirelles; the duo was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987 and into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990. Her 1971 solo album “Tapestry” brought four Grammy Awards, including Record, Song and Album of the Year. In 2013 she became the first woman to receive the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song, in 2015 she received the Kennedy Center Honors, and in 2021 she was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame a second time, as a performer. On a gala recording by Doc Heilein and Friends, Miriam Schäfer sings “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman”, which she wrote with Gerry Goffin in 1967 for Aretha Franklin at the suggestion of Jerry Wexler.
