Clemens von Reusner

Composer

Born in 1957; Clemens von Reusner is a composer who lives in the Wendland region of Lower Saxony. Since the end of the 1970s he has worked in the field of electroacoustic music, writing acousmatic and radiophonic works, radio plays and soundscape compositions from electronically generated sounds and sounds recorded with microphones at particular places, which he processes in the studio. One focus is spatial sound composition for multichannel loudspeaker arrays. His works have been broadcast and performed at festivals in Asia, Europe and the Americas, including the International Computer Music Conference, the Linux Audio Conference and the New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival. In 2020 he won first prize in the composition competition of the Weimarer Frühjahrstage with “Anamorphosis”, and in 2023 he was nominated for the Deutscher Musikautor*innenpreis in the category experimental music/electronics. From 2010 to 2013 he was on the board of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Elektroakustische Musik, and since 2015 he has curated the series “Akusmatische Konzerte” in Trebel. On the Cybele album DEGEM Vol. 9 – Orpheus 400 (2007) he is represented with “Gedehnte Zeit” (2007).
