Ferdi Brendgen

Sound engineer

Ferdi Brendgen belongs to the early history of live electronics at the Folkwang-Hochschule in Essen. In the early 1970s he was a member of an ensemble that had grown out of the Gruppe MHz and worked with equipment developed specifically for the electronic transformation of instrumental sound. The Folkwang documentation names Brendgen alongside Günther Becker, Alfred Alings, Mirko Dorner, Pierre W. Feit and Dirk Reith as part of this artistic and technical working group. His participation thus stands for an early, practice-based union of instrumental sound, studio technology and live electronics.
