Gisbert Schneider is a German organist, church musician and teacher. Born in Wattenscheid and raised in Weimar, he studied church music and conducting at the Folkwang-Hochschule Essen. As professor of artistic organ playing and improvisation he joined concert work, teaching and church music practice. Honoured several times, he received the Federal Cross of Merit in 1996 for his artistic and educational commitment.
