Hannes Galette Seidl

Born on 28 March 1977; Hannes Galette Seidl is a German composer. In 1994 he won the composition competition Schülerinnen und Schüler komponieren in Bremen. After his civilian service he studied musicology at the University of Cologne from 1997 and from 1998 composition with Nicolaus A. Huber and electronic music with Thomas Neuhaus; from October 2000 to February 2001 he worked at the Centro di Sonologia Computazionale in Padua with Alvise Vidolin and at the Archivio Luigi Nono in Venice. He received scholarships from the Darmstadt Summer Courses (2000) and the Associazione Richard Wagner di Venezia (2001). In 1997/98 he toured Germany with his ensemble Maiwiesenkonserve and pieces of his own; performances took place at the Berlin Philharmonie, the Bachwoche Ansbach, the studio stage of the Dortmund Opera, in Venice, London and at the Darmstadt Summer Courses, and in 2000 he created the dance piece “aus.der.fremde” with Roman Pfeifer. On the Cybele album ex machina Vol. 6 – The Nineties (2001) he is represented with “re: bounce” (2001), a remix of Iannis Xenakis’s percussion solo “Rebonds” that adopts its structures and principles of design and transfers the piece into a tape piece for a multiplied percussion instrument.
